We will be accepting applications for Session 1, Levels 1 and 2, until spaces are no longer available.

Applications will no longer be accepted after MAY 15, 2008.

Please read the following instructions before you begin your application.

If you would like to fax in your application, you may download a printable application.

Your online application to STARTALK has three parts.

1. Fill in the online form with your personal information.

2. Email the following to chinese_startalk@byu.edu, or fax them to (801) 422-0028:

• A scan of your high school transcript. It does not have to be official. (Please use a standard format such as .jpg or .pdf).
• A short essay (500 words) which explains why you want to study Chinese and how your talents, experience, and personality will contribute to STARTALK's success. (Please use a Word or pdf document).
• A list of extra-curricular activities, interests, and awards (optional). (Please use a Word or pdf document).

If emailing, write "Application: (Applicant's Name)" in the subject line. Faxed applications must include a cover sheet with "Attention Chinese STARTALK" written on it and your name written on each page.

3. Print the 2 confidential teacher recommendation forms, and have teachers submit these by email or fax following the instructions above.

Tuition:
Tuition for the STARTALK Chinese Camp is $888.00 which includes all camp fees associated with housing, meals, program costs and textbooks and materials, which your student can keep after the camp. Tuition will be due upon registration for accepted students

Scholarships:
Need-based scholarships are available; if you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please submit the separate Scholarship Application by email or mail to the above address by April 15, 2008.
