The Governor's Language Summit is co-organized in collaboration with The Language Flagship and the BYU Chinese Flagship Center. The Language Flagship and its national Centers and Programs are spearheading a national movement to support initiatives to help create the next generation of global professionals.
Their efforts concentrate on developing dialogues between leaders in government, business, and education in order to develop new paradigms that will prepare and lead Utah, as well as the rest of the United States to successful international business and cultural exchanges.
The Governor's Language Summit in Utah 2008 opened and facilitated an important dialogue by key players from the state and nation about language and cultural initiatives to prepare Utah's rising generation for the global economy of the twenty-first century. Leaders from business, government, and education met to begin an unprecedented movement toward globalization of Utah's most important asset: its language-rich workforce.
