Nanjing Internships

The students from the Fall 2011 overseas group will be heading back to the United States this summer. As part of the overseas experience they completed internships in various China institutions.

Student Quotes from Internship Reports:
“I can’t believe that in just a few short weeks, my experience in China will be over. I have learned so much not just in terms of language, but more importantly, in regards to the Chinese people and myself. As much as I thought I knew China before, this internship has shown a totally, different side of China. A side that at times was positive and at times negative, however, a learning experience all the same.”

“I would say that interacting with my lab-mates and local Chinese has taught me more about China than my classes at NJU have. I learn so much about Chinese thought, language, tradition,
politics, cuisine, the Chinese education system, etc. just by hanging out with them. It has been great fun and truly educational.”

“There’s a happy side to reflection on the past four
months as well, and that’s the people who I’ve had the
pleasure of meeting here. I like my coworkers and my roommates very much. They are funny, humble, honest people, and very different in background both from each other and from all the people who I had gotten to know in China up until starting this job.”
